Where to buy a "submarine" bun

Hi All

Have a craving for some sort of homemade cheesesteak sandwich and was wondering where I would be able to buy a "submarine" bun.

I'm looking for a softer bun like something you would find at a sub store. All I've been able to find at the grocery store is more like a baguette and are very dense (not what I'm looking for).

@ Yonge and Bloor so something close or along the subway line would be great!

Thanks!!

  1. Try Metro or Sobeys.

    1. I bought some last week at Silversteins bakery.

I bought some from Silverstein's last week as well. They were great and perfect for roast beef sandwiches.

Can you just walk in there off the street?

            Yes you can.

I just bought a couple of soft buns from Loblaws that are literally labeled Submarine Buns. They had both white and whole wheat. I think they're about 10 inches long, or thereabouts.

Just noticed in the Fortino's flyer that their sub buns are on sale - 49 cents each, normally 79 cents each. Guessing they are the same buns available at Loblaws but I think they have different sale items usually

Yeah I don't know how I missed them before, never saw them in the loose bun section, but went to Sobey's and found a pack of three for 1.99, they served their purpose.
