Business dinner near Convention Center?

Hi. I'm from the East Coast and heading for a conference in San Diego. I have to take some folks to business dinners. Could you recommend somewhere nice enough that they'll feel doted upon but not so expensive that my boss will have a coronary when I turn over my expense report?
