TACOMA downtown: family-friendly recs near Union Station/UW campus ?

Will be there for Friday overnight, en route from PDX to YVR home.

Preferably along Pacific or parallel streets, but north of 21 St.

Not Old Spag Factory (we have same crappy OSF back in YVR) nor any loud taverns.

Maybe a fusion-y, multi-cultural place would be good, for three foodies who can't make up their minds ;-)

I considered Indochine, quite curious (so happens there's a new resto here in town that just opened named Indochine). Family wasn't keen. We ended up walking down Broadway and settled for Varsity Grill. Not my kind of place ("kids get to eat free"), but important thing is everyone is happy afterwards.
