Question on my corned beef cooking right now
I have a corned beef (flat cut) in the crock pot right now. Not a big fan but hubby loves it so I give in once a year.
It was about 2.75 lbs and I trimmed a bunch of fat. It's in beef broth and various spices. Anyway I put it in about 6 hours ago but it is pretty tough right now. I've been cooking it on low the entire time. Is it overcooked or does it still need a few hours to cook away the tough? I don't use it very often and lack confidence on time vs temp.
I agree with the other posts. It will be fine, just give it a couple of more hours, and AGREE that you shouldn't keep opening up the lid to check it!
