Walnut Street Supper Club Tonight...Am I In For It?
Taking a friend out for his birthday tonight, and he requested this place. Am I in for it with this choice? I can't tell from what I have read if its kitsch or cool, and the food looks like standard italian fare, which is totally fine if it's well executed. Has anyone been?
I went a little while ago, probably they hadn't been open a full month yet. Atmosphere was cool, felt like a 1920s (40s?) supper club, very nice space, not kitschy. Some singers were better than others; none were bad but only one was great. The piano player/MC really needed to get a routine together but otherwise the entertainment was good. Food was not great but fine--definitely not a chow destination but good enough. Prices were very fair considering that live entertainment is included. Only downside may be if you sit at the bar or in the upstairs section, you can't see the singers but they do have TVs.
