Quick DInner on the Way Back from Lotus

Am going white water rafting in Lotus, CA on a Saturday in June with the boyfriend. We will be leaving Lotus between 4-5PM and headed to Union Square via the I-80W. Can you guys recommend a good diner, truck stop, or sandwich place somewhere along the highway for a quick dinner? Bonus points if it's quirky, or known for its pie, or whatever.

Thanks so much.

Check out Redrum Burger in Davis. Previously Murder Burger with a nod to The Shining. One hour from Lotus , quick on off, quirky works for me.

Thanks! I'll keep it in mind as a backup, in case Ikedas is closed by the time we get there.

Ikeda's is a fruit stand, but they do have good pies there. You can grab dips and stuff to go, but it's not a sit down place. If you go to Redrum Burger, call your order in ahead. They have an, um, leisurely service model even if you do call ahead. In 'N Out is across the street.

Alternative places in Davis can be found at: http://daviswiki.org/Restaurants , but Redrum Gets the most divey points for Davis. My favorite burger place there is, of all things, at a low priced Persian restaurant, Ali Baba: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ali-Baba/118622588150599 . I've surprisingly had some better Shanghai style Chinese food at the divey Shanghai Town in Davis than in SF, and if you go there, order the Shanghai labeled items, mainly off of the Shanghai Style Menu. http://daviswiki.org/Shanghai_Town

You should ask on the California board for points east of Dixon.

Thanks so much. That Ikedas place sounds great.
