Rome on Easter Sunday
I will be driving from Amalfi and spend Easter Sunday in Rome before departure the next morning. I have been going through the various posts here, which are tremendously helpful and entertaining - been relying on this forum for most of my eating recommendations almost everywhere!
But am still a bit confused as to what will be open on Easter Sunday and what the best options out there...here is the tentative food itinerary:
Late Lunch:
Light lunch at Pizzarium
- is it open on Sunday?
- or would I enjoy myself more with a late lunch at Colline Emilliane?
Gelato at Gelateria dei Gracchi (a short walk from Pizzarium)
Dinner:
Antico Arco
- been trying to email them for a reservation, but have conflicting info on whether it's actually open on Easter Sunday
- another option I read from other CHers that is open on Easter Sunday is Checchino, but seems like a lot of CHers like Antico Arco quite a bit?
Many thanks!

Pizzarium is usually open on holidays. Gracchi isnt a short walk from pizzarium. it's more like 25 min. but 10 min away you can get amazing gelato at Fatamorgana on via Bettolo (way better than gracchi IMO) not sure if checchino is open easter sunday but here's the round-up i posted on my blog last year. there is also an easter itinerary on my app that will be updated, along with the post below, shortly. hope it helps:
"Antico Arco: creative cuisine which draws inspiration from the ingredients and recipes of southern Italy. Expensive, but not excessively so. Open for dinner only both Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Call +39065815274 for reservations.
Cul de Sac: This long established wine bar near Piazza Navona has more than 1,500 (mostly Italian) labels and a nice selection of cheeses, pates, and salamis. It has outdoor seating, a huge improvement on the uncomfortable benches inside. Open both Easter Sunday and Easter Monday for lunch and dinner. Call +39066 8801094 for bookings (I think they only take reservations for 1230pm and 630pm).
Da Danilo: Roman food with a hint of modernity. Da Danilo is home to one of my favorite carbonaras in the city. Be sure to specify a table upstairs. Open on Easter Sunday at lunch. Call +390677200111 for bookings.
Flavio Velvevodetto: moderately priced Roman cuisine with outdoor seating. Open both Easter Sunday and Easter Monday for lunch. Call +39065744194 for bookings.
La Campana: Classic Roman cuisine in a familial setting. Open Easter Sunday at lunch and dinner. Call +39066875273 to book.
L’Asino d’Oro: Chef Lucio Sforza serves “Umbrian soul food” at moderate prices in Monti. Outdoor seating available. Open Easter Sunday for both lunch and dinner and Easter Monday at lunch only. Call +390648913832 for reservations.
UPDATE Antico Arco will also be open for lunch. Mesob will be open both Sunday and Monday night."
