Visiting Orlando from The Islands for three nights - where to eat?

Greetings, My husband and I have island fever so we're headed back to the U.S. for a little mainland R&R. We'll stay at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort. The plan is to go to the outlets one day and a theme park the other day (probably adventure island). We have three dinners (Tues, Wed, Thurs) and will probably eat lunch while out and about.

We'd love recommendations for a local coffee shop that does its own roasting; a cozy microbrewery/gastropub for dinner; an authentic Cal-Mex place; best raw bar;down-home breakfast place and a bountiful and fresh salad bar place.

Thanks for your help. Can't wait to eat some good food!

  1. I don't know if you'll have a car, but the Ravenous Pig in Winter Park is the best gastropub -- and many say the best overall restaurant -- in Orlando. It's about 40 minutes away from you, but an easy drive east on I-4 to the Fairbanks exit. If you can get there, you won't regret it.

We do have a car and this place looks amazing. Thank you so very much. I am totally stoked to check it out!

make sure you make reservations or take your chance at the bar area, there are dining tables, i waited ten minutes once but some people wait a lot longer. The Ravenous Pig is definitely the place you want to go for gastropub though! I like sitting at the bar
