king's carriage house east 82nd st - special lunch

anyone have any experience? was thinking of doing a special lunch there for a small group. hoping the food is good. any other suggestions in the east 80's? private room would be great. no more than 12 people. i have found many of the better restaurants are closed for lunch.

What is your budget? King's Carriage House is a sweet place, but the food is not good. Do you have to stay in the east 80s?

yes we do need to stay in the 80's. i have found that many restaurants don't do lunch. $35-40 pp not including drinks seems reasonable. its a business luncheon.

OMG! It is still open!? Haven't thought of this place since I took my 80 yo grandparents there ten years ago! It was total crap. OK OK, not fair, I know. It WAS ten years ago and if still in business they must successfully be serving a certain market?

I just had simple lunch prix fixe there, so I don't know in depth but the food was O.K. Salad was just plain and nothing special. The grilled breast of duck was fairly good with bacon and cassis vinaigrette. But then again, nothing really overwhelming. Service was friendly and attentive.
