I have had nothing but awful food (a putrid crab from the raw bar was the straw that broke the...for me) at Delphine. Never had the Caesar tho.

Sorry to hear that! I have heard both good and bad. I've mostly had the Caesar and the fries and the burger. It has been about 6 months since I've been there. If you are in that area, Cleo is where to go. One of my favorite places in the last couple of years. Terrific food.

Have you tried Mezze? I think a Cleo-liker would like Mezze as well.

Xiomara would be good. You might be able to find a place at the bar at Osteria Mozza (not the Pizzaria.) Providence has a small but nice bar. I've always wanted to go to Marino's on Melrose... anyone know if it has bar?

Also, Lou, on Vine just north of Melrose, only has wine but is a lovely small space with great wine and tapas/small plates.

Marino's has a very nice bar, and they have lovely wines by the glass. Its very quiet during the week, and it does have old school Hollywood elegance. It depends on what mood you're looking for - Marino's is zen and contemplative, while sitting at the bar at Osteria Mozza people and things seem to go by a mile a minute.

Of course, Lou also has beer, etc. But yes, Lou. Definitely Lou, especially since he might be closing in the upcoming months.

The other obvious fine choice is Cube LA. Also fantastic wine, usually no wait ala Mozza. Huge fan of their cheese & dessert programs.
