Food delivery service for new parents?

  • 2

Good friends of mine are having their second set of twins (older ones are not yet 3 years old) and are going to have their hands full! I would cook for them, but I live on the other side of the country. I would love to arrange to have some family-style dinners delivered to them so they don't have to worry about cooking, but don't know Boston well enough to figure this out on my own. Hounds, please help!! Are there restaurants that you know of in the area that would be a good bet for this, or is there a delivery service that does something like this? A variety of cuisines is fine. Thanks in advance!

  1. Here are a couple threads to get you started.

    Here is a thread from Fall '10. The info might still be relevant. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/742857

    1. Another possibility might be Got Thyme, a personal chef service that offers a weekly meal delivery service. Though I have not tried the service myself, most weeks I see Chef Stephen Deffley offering prepared entrees at the Westford Winter Farmers' Market (a regular stop for me).

      Just last week he happened to give me a flyer about the meal delivery program. Here is a sample week's menu:

      * Whole roasted chicken with vegetables and potatoes
      * Chicken stew with a side salad
      * Vegetable quiche

      The flyer listed the price as $125 delivered. I'm not sure which towns he covers, though he did mention going into Boston. Contact info for Chef Deffley is on his website:
