Breakfast To-Go Near Palace Hotel

Boyfriend and I are spending a weekend in San Francisco and staying at the Palace Hotel. We are flying in early Friday morning and leaving Sunday afternoon. I have all the restaurants picked for every meal except Saturday's breakfast.

Here's the issue: We are leaving at 7AM on Saturday to go white water rafting. This is a 3-hour trip each way. We're not going to want to get up any earlier than necessary to stop and eat breakfast, so we'll either have to get something on the way or buy something the night before and eat it the next day.

Do you have any suggestions? Should we get sandwiches or is there a place on the way that serves something like great breakfast burritos?

Thanks so much.

  1. On the way where?

There's all kinds of takeout at the Ferry Building, the shops there close between 6pm and 7:30 on Fridays. I'm not sure there's anything closer open before 7 on Saturdays.

On the way to Lotus, CA. We'll be taking the I-80 through Oakland.

So you think it's best to pick up something the night before? My only issue would be that we may not have access to a fridge. We're not guaranteed to get one at the hotel we're staying.

According to my google search after the Bay Bridge you take 80 North through Berkeley. If that is correct a quick off at University, right at the fork and a right to 4th st. with a quick stop at Bette's to go and then back on the road.

Left on Fourth Street off of Hearst Avenue.

The fastest way to Bette's is to keep left on the University off ramp, turn right on Hearst, and left on Fourth.

I believe it's right at fork, left at fork to Frontage Road to right at Hearst left at 4th. If you stay to the left you end up going east on University.

That's past Sacramento so through Berkeley rather than Oakland.

Bette's opens at 6:30, is just a few blocks off 80, and has a huge selection of good stuff to go. You can phone in your order so it'll be ready to pick up.
