Shamrock Shake 2012
I had to suspend my personal ban on all things McDonald because I was out of the country last year and I missed it. Never mind that I don't know how to say shamrock in Spanish .... shake verde ...it just wasn't a Guatemalan thing.
So I bought one this year. Nice cherry on top ... they should use the ones dyed green though ... we ain't talking anything healthy to begin with here.
They CHANGED it !!!
Why do big companies feel they need to mess with success?
What was that background flavor ... wint-o-green?
It wasn't as creme de menthe tasting as in the past.
Also, it was much sweeter than recall. However, I haven't had a McDonald's shake for years, so they might all be that way.
I used to make a McGrasshopper by combining the chocolate shake with the shamrock. I'm thinking that would be too sweet, so maybe a chocolate Wendie's frostie with the shamrock shake would tone things down a bit ... and Irish whiskey.

They changed all their shakes when they added the McCafe stuff for coffee. They're not what they used to be....
I don't drink shakes that often, but when I do, it's because I want something specific. I loved the old salty/sweet, cheap-o McD's shakes. Now they're too "fancy" (although it's McDonald's - I use that term loosely.) As rochfood says - I don't want whipped cream and plastic dome at McD's!

Just give me the damn waxed paper cup already..what is this froo froo nonsense ?
What's with the clear plastic dome and cherry ? Is that an observation window ? To observe how much the "shake" looks like Irish Spring ? Oohh..so swirly.
Where's Uncle O' Grimacy when you need him ? -
I don't know what it was like before, but the first Shamrock Shake I had was a few weeks earlier, and it was GROSS. AND I was drunk. That should make everything taste like heaven.
Really sweet and artificial candy-mint. That's what you're getting when you order it, so watch out.
