A place like Brucie on Court Street

This is a weird request, but is there a place like Brucie in lower Manhattan or Williamsburg? Friends coming to town for less than 24 hours. They will not want to head down to Brooklyn (from Queens).

I'd say Malatesta in the WV, but even that is not as adorable as Brucie. What did you end up deciding?

We went to Brucie! The atmosphere was pretty much perfect, though the food was just fine. Not bad, sometimes good, but food-wise, definitely not something to return for.
