McLoone's Supper Club, Asbury Park

I know that the McLoone's restaurants are known more for their high prices and good views, than the food. But, has anyone attended a private party event in the upstairs space at the Supper Club? If you can get past the Howard Johnson's facade, the upstairs space is very attractive and sophisticated (imho). My family is thinking of booking an event, but would really like to hear from someone who's attended one and can comment on the experience.

  1. I've been upstairs a bunch of times for charity theatre events. I don't have a whole lot to say about the food though - it's always acceptable and ok. I've never been blown away and never been disappointed. IMO the best thing to get upstairs is a gin martini with blue cheese olives. :D

I will say that it's been a few months since I've been, and a friend of mine who's a chef at another local restaurant claims the place took a nosedive. Not something I can corroborate though.

I go to McLoone's only for the music and the views, never for the food....the food is pricey and below average.

    2. JS, I happen to think that the retro 50's HoJo facade is the 'hippest'. Upstairs is really nice, but as others have chimed in - the food is nothing to write home about and it's pricey.
