My recommendations would either be in Williams (~20 minutes South on I5) at Granzellas - Restaurant
    451 6th Street, Williams, CA 95987
    (530) 473-5583

or in Chico (~35 minutes East) at either
Sierra Nevada Brewing CO - Taproom & Restaurant
    1075 East 20th Street, Chico, CA 95928
    (530) 345-2739

or, also in Chico, Red Tavern 1250 Esplanade (530) 894-3463.

Willy, you've got to try Nancy's Airport Cafe, it's a great little place just off I-5 at the Willows exit, at the municipal airport, across from WalMart. This place has everything, a full-service family style American restaurant with casual dining, huge portions of delicious homestyle comfort foods, top quality steaks, a fresh salad bar, great breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials, and homemade pies. The friendly servers and aeronautical memorabilia make your visit a good old-fashioned dining experience.

On 8/12/10 I posted: "For a real dive, you can’t beat River Glenn about 15 miles east of Willows, CA if you come up I-5. It is inside the levee of the Sacramento River. It has great prime rib, but is only open Thur., Fri., Sat. for dinner I think. I saw a lunch special on a sign on the levee Monday, so it must be open for lunch. You would have to call for the facts."
        River Glenn

        Glenn, CA 95943
This is the place for a hearty meal in a old converted beer bar. Don’t pay any attention to the cement-floor ambiance and just enjoy some of the best prime rib in the North State or a big plate of halibut. I’m not sure about cocktails but there are beers and OK wines.

The Maxwell Inn (530-438-2521) in downtown Maxwell, CA is very good with an interesting collection of stuffed animals. It's a nice rstaurant with a full bar.

The Red Tavern for fine dining in Chico has a real chef from the Bay Area and a selected wine list with reasonably priced French, Spanish and Italian wines besides the usual domestic suspects. It also has a full bar.
