ISO: Fresh Red Currants

I'm looking for a pint or two of fresh red currants for a preserve recipe. Despite all the berries I notice in stores, I can't seem to find currants anywhere. Has anyone seen any at stores/farmers market/farm stand recently? Ideally in FLL. Your help will be much appreciated.

they are a summer crop and despite living in So Fl for 7 years I've never seen them or blackcurrants here. I almost fall over if I see rhubarb! And I've never seen green gooseberries either here.

I am fairly certain that (1) currants are not grown (commercially) anywhere in South Florida; and (2) the places where they are grown, they're a summer crop.

Maybe consider a different recipe. Strawberries are grown locally, in season right now, and delicious.

Thanks for helping out this Canadian girl! We usually get strawberries and red currants around the same time in Ontario. Very helpful to know that they're not grown commercially in South Florida!
