Grand Opening Days at Barnstable Market

The Barnstable Market has been formally celebrating its grand opening this week. Friday evening has a beer tasting by Cape Cod Beer from 4-6. On Saturday, there will be a wine tasting from 3:30-6:30. There is also live music and a sampling of free hors d'oeuvres from 4-6. If you haven't been to the new store yet, check it out--good meats, good deli, and everything is sparkling clean and bright.

What a boon and asset to the village this place is. I shop there almost daily. The deli is outstanding. The pizza isn't great but quite edible, and a much needed missing category in the village. The meat department is terrific. The butcher will repackage or order you anything you ask for. The baked goods and veggies are fresh and varied. The people couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. What a difference from the old owners. Bright and airy and just a pleasure to shop. And quite frankly, not much more expensive than the supermarkets in Hyannis.

I'd like to check it out. Sounds like out is located in Barnstable Village.

It's right in the village, in the space formerly occupied by the Barnstable Grocery Store. I'll be nice and just say that BGS had fallen on hard times. The new place is completely different.
