Food Cabbie...the BIG KAHUNA
Damn good burger! I told Spiro the owner that I did really like sweet stuff on my burgers and he tells me that the ingredients all meld together into something glorious. Spiro know what he is talking about! Support this food truck.
THE BIG KAHUNA BURGER! Fresh never frozen Sirloin, Fresh grilled Pineapple, Our own Teryaki Sauce, Burger Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato & Onion served on a freshly baked Onion Bun--$6.50.
Personally, I liked this more than Burger Priest.

Just read on Food Cabbie's Facebook page that he may have to move from this parking lot. He has a long post explaining how he thought he had all the proper paperwork and licences. But then he gets issued a noticed that there's some contradictory by-law forbidding food trucks operating in a parking lot with paying parking customers! Just when it seems the street food scene has been making great strides in the last year. Sigh.

re: num nums
Once again the city of Toronto screws up a good thing. How can they have the audacity to think of themselves as a world class city when they continually do everything to fall behind everyone else. I can't think of any other city that is so mired in bureaucracy. If Vancouver can let a food truck park on the sidewalk then surely they can let one be on PRIVATE PROPERTY. How the heck did they come up with such a retarded by-law in the first place??

Yeah bummer. Thanks to CH I just caught on to this being close to my office (I tend to assume cool things are in the west end...) and started following on fb, and now this. I imagine they'll be even busier so I'll have to go at an off time. Does anyone know what the lemon blossoms are???

You should have mentioned that the Big Kahuna is only available once-a-week as a special... not on the regular menu.
For those that don't know, Food Cabbie is a food truck parked in a parking lot on Queen near Jarvis. It's open 8-5, Monday to Friday.
It can get pretty nuts at lunch; went yesterday, and it was a 20 minute wait. Some of the menu items are hit and miss. Though when it's a hit, it can be a homerun!
A TV crew from Global was interviewing Spiro yesterday...not sure if it has aired yet or not.
