Anyone been? If so, how are the drinks and the ambience?

Great place. It's in the Indian Creek Hotel just north of South Beach which is a small-scale laid-back Art Deco hotel. The bar is set up in the back patio area, a little indoor space, mostly outdoor, great vibe and great drinks.

What type of crowd? Would a group of people in their late 20's be out of place?

I have stayed there as a guest but haven't been to new bar there......Will say this...parking in that area is absolutely atrocious.....Hope the new venture works out well and will have to try the place myself.....Stayed at that hotel while attending SoBe Wine and Food Festival a few years back....small...old and skanky....no matter how many coats of paint they put on the place.....I guess it's "shabby chic".....no about that parking!

There is free parking after 6PM on the streets in that area.

As well as at the fairly large public lot across the street.

Across what street? The only lot I know of in the area is used by valet for nearby hotels. Street parking, while great that it's free after 6pm, is a rare commodity in that area on Thurs-Fri-Sat nights.

There's a huge lot on 27th and Collins that's free after 6 Still tough to get a spot on Fri & Sat. though

Ok, I checked google maps and see the lot youre talking about. I'll have to try that next time.

I'll try that lot as well when I go back......street parking there is a hassle 24 / 7.......and I know that hasn't changed simply because it can't!......Would never stay at the hotel again....but I'd go there to hang....

Has anyone tried the food? I think they have small plates, right?

I finally hit the broken shaker. I've been trying to find a bar in the tri-county area where I could give the bartender free reign and give me their best shot and this is it. My wife had three different rum beverages. I had 3 gin drinks and kindly asked the tatooed lady tending bar to make me a drink with gin and basil. She nailed it, adding ginger that gave the drink a spiciness and lemongrass that played in the background. Really good stuff. The ambience was interesting because it has that hole in the wall feel, but people walking in and out in their bathing trunks makes you feel like you're on vacation.
