Summit House Restaurant

This is the spot we used to take our brown bag lunches to at Crystal Mountain:
We had lunch today accompanied by beautiful sunshine and not too much wind. The menu is limited because of location. I chose the fancy burger and was surprised with the overall presentation. It comes with a original mayo sauce for the large lightly fried pomme frites that had special salt on them. The burger was made from their own mix of beef. It was served on a roll made at the Black Diamond Bakery with wonderful Swiss cheese and several slices of very lean bacon. There was lettuce of the Romaine verity and some really small rings of raw onion. The wine list was short, but I enjoyed a glass of the 2009 Hestia Red Blend, Columbia Valley, WA. The place got really crowded after we arrived and the waiting list was long. If you plan to go make reservations.

  1. Thanks for the report. I've eaten there in previous years but not this one, since I'd heard that reservations were needed now that there is a gondola that brings non-skiers to the top. And it's kind of hard to make a reservation when you're skiing, since it's hard to predict how long it'll take to get any given place. I'm also bummed they took the breakfast plate off the menu--that was always a reliable meal when some of the entrees seemed like a bit of a stretch for the kitchen.
