restaurant suggestion near Faulkner Hospital Boston

I am from the CT area. I need to make a reservation at a restaurant for lunch. My boss is taking (16) business customers on a bus to a demo and he wants an upscale restaurant. I heard about Capital Grill, but they do not open until 4 PM. I need to make a reservation for 12:30-1 PM. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

They ended up at the Capital Grill and they were all very happy with the food. Thank you again for all of your suggestions. We do have a Capital Grill in Stamford, CT but we have not ried it yet.

There is a Capital Grille on Rt. 9 that is less than 10 min from the Faulkner.

There is nothing particularly upscale in JP and certainly not a steakhouse.

IMO, Aquataine is a better bet than Met Club.

Or how about Bernard's in the Chestnut Hill Mall.

Bernard's certainly is as close as the other mentioned Chestnut Hill spots, but is really more of a nice Americanized Chinese than "upscale steakhouse". I would second the Aquataine and Met Bar suggestions as close, easy to find/park and fits the bill for vibe you requested.

            Yeah, but "upscale" Americanized Chinese.

Y'know, I was just there on Saturday, and I didn't find it particularly upscale in any way. The food was fine, but the atmosphere was casual. Maybe "upscale" because it is in an upscale mall, rather than in Chinatown, but otherwise I saw little difference.

Yes, the food at Bernards is pretty good, but the place is showing its age. Could use a redo.

                  I guess "upscale"'s always relative.

And I haven't been there for awhile

The Cap Grille on Rt. 9 is not open for lunch - dinner only.

Capital Grille at Copley Sq is open for lunch. About a 15 minute drive from the Faulkner.

Is this the one on 900 Boylston Street? I think this is where he wants me to make the reservation.

Be aware that if you are from out of town, coordinating getting 16 business associates to Copley Square, parking etc might be somewhat challenging. Yes, it is a short distance in absolute terms...but nothing in Boston is a straight route, signage is cryptic/missing and parking in that part of town is challenging/expensive. The other suggestions closer to the Faulkner (around Chestnut Hill) would be quick, easy to get to and with ample parking. Capital Grill is not so special that I would put up with the hassle of dragging the group to Copley.

OP said they were all on a bus, so should be less of an issue.

Thank you everyone. My boss just called me from the bus and said the majority wants to go to Capital Grill so I will let you know what he says tomorrow. I really am impressed with Chowhound. Whenever we are going anywhere I always post on the area we are visiting etc., and always get good responses.

I get that this what the group wants...but if anyone in the group is a bit more bohemian and would like to experience some true local flavor, that there is an old Irish neighborhood bar in Jamaica Plain called Doyle's. I would not recommend the food here, but it is the real thing for a bar.

Are you going for a Capital Grille type spot (typical steak house fare)? Is there a price range? How close to the hospital are you talking? I don't believe there's a Capital Grille anywhere near there so not exactly sure what you're talking about. That hospital is in Jamaica Plain, so you've got a little bit of ride to anything "upscale" that could accomodate 16 people. Ten Tables in JP is lovely, but not what you need.

My boss said a typical steak house but then he also mentioned Legal Seafood. I have been to legal Seafood and would not consider that a steakhouse. I looked on Mapquest and it is about five miles form Faulkner to where Capital Grill is now located at Boylston St.

Also, pretty sure that Ten Tables is not open for lunch.

Think about the Met Club - http://metclubandbar.com/ - Looks like it is open for lunch except Mondays.

Also, http://www.aquitainebis.com/ may work for you -

Both are relatively close to the Faulkner.

Otherwise, you're going to need to go to downtown Boston to find what you want. Since you have a bus, that's going to be much more convenient.

There's also the Chestnut Hill Legal Seafood right across the street from the Met Bar....
