help with selection of new appliances needed
Remodeling the kitchen, and looking at some upper-end appliances. I think I'm set on the 48" Wolf range (thanks to other postings, I went and looked and like it), but now I'm looking at 42" or 48" built-in side-by side refrigerators (Sub-Zero or Jenn-Air or something else?? Please help!!), dishwashers (standard size, does anyone have a recommendation of one they love that's quiet and cleans well????) and built-in microwaves (anyone have a recommendation?).
All suggestions appreciated....
Hi lidi b
Just curious as to what you decided on appliances. We`re building a house and I`m still selecting appliances. In particular I`m stuck on the ovens but am thinking about installing double wall oven and the Miele microwave covection oven. I`d also like the Gaggenau or Wolf steam oven but would only get one wall oven in that case.
For decades, we have had good luck with Kitchenaid dishwashers and just put a new one in our kitchen remodel. It cleans just fine and you can barely tell it's running it's so quiet.
For a microwave that's built in I would normally suggest moving up to a convection/microwave or "speed oven", but you should have plenty of oven with the Wolf. But if you think you would like to just bake a small dish and not want to heat up the Wolf, these are a nice addition and I like the way they warm up a plate of food mcuh better than the old microwave we had. There are a bunch of brands, we bought a Kitchenaid based on the size of baking dish that would fit and the fact Mrs. mikie didn't want knobs to mess with and clean around. The only knobs in our kitchen are on the range top. There are a number of other brands out there, GE is probably the leader in sales, but others such as electrolux, bosh, etc. have the same type of unit.
