ISO Lemon Layer Cake

ipsedixit Mar 7, 2012 04:45 AM

I need a good Lemon Layer Cake.

Where does one go find a good Lemon Layer Cake in this town?

Doesn't matter if it is a bakery or a restaurant, or whatever. I'll even go to a food truck if need be.

Had a great one from Proof Bakery a few weeks ago-very light and moist.
What about Sweet Lady Jane or Valerie confections ??

slj's lemon cake is pretty good, albeit very lemony.

          Magnolia Bakery on 3rd.

Their lemon cake has to be special ordered. If you like their cupcakes you'll love their cake, obviously.
It's dense, not too lemony and sweet, and has a wonderful buttercream frosting.

I think Lemonade's cake is pretty good. By the slice or by the sheet...light and lemony.

SusieCakes does a nice lemon layer cake, but they also do a Meyer lemon cake while Meyers are in season, which I think is about now.

Agree with namster - SLJ knows how to work the lemon.
