Del Posto Weekday Lunch Now $39

Says Eater:

One of the best deals in town is no more. The Price Hike/Bloomberg's Ryan Sutton reports that Del Posto's three-course lunch—raved over here, here, here, and here— has gone up from $29 to $39. GM Jeff Katz explains to Sutton that lunch was "too inexpensive in the first place" and that it's the "dinner experience at a much lower price point." For comparison's sake, lunch at Eleven Madison Park is $74 for four courses, Le Bernardin offers menus for $45, $70, and $190, and the two-course lunch at Jean Georges, always considered a deal, is $38. So he has a point.

In other news, the restaurant is also serving the full menu at the bar, a la carte or prix fixe, for the first time ever.

I suppose that $29 price point really was too good to be true....

This is great news. I love dining at the bar in restaurants.

      1. Haha, just ate there for lunch on Friday, looks like I squeezed in in the nick of time. Frankly, I didn't think the food was amazing, but with all the extras thrown in, great experience for $29.

        1. fwiw, the prix fixe lunch was still $29 on thursday.

Really? I have a res in a few weeks for lunch and the website shows $39. Guess I'll see!

I was there for lunch last week and was told the new price goes into effect in April.

Oh? That's good to know. Just booked a lunch res for 29th - not somewhere I've been dying to go, but $29 is a damn good deal to pass up.

              2. FYI, it's now $49 for 3 courses. "Guests may enjoy an additional taste of pasta for the table at $10 per person."
