Knives on Maui?

We're looking for a place where we could pick up a couple of decent kitchen knives on Maui. Ideally, toward the west (Lahaina? Kaanapali?) but Kahului or south could also work. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We ended up picking up some okay Henckels at Macy's in Kahului - they're not top of the line but we wanted something my brother and sister-in-law could leave in their owner's closet that would be better than what's left out for the renters of their condo and these are a definite improvement on that front. The selection was pretty limited but they were on sale which helped.

For basic use while you're there knives there is Costco, even Long's. Craft knives would be another story.

        Hi, Jacquilynne:

Would these be for keepsakes or just to use while there? I will look for a local maker for you, but if the latter, you might try Pacific Restaurant Supply in Wailuku. Maybe Google Pacific Handcrafters' Guild for the former.

I've been so mean to you, I should make you one. What would you like?

        Aloha,
