New restaurants in Montreal? Any treasures? Any reviews on Hostaria? Boullion Bilk? Pastaga?

My fellow foodie friends and I like to try a new restaurant every month and it seems we've hit a wall...we had a bunch of successes last summer with Icehouse, Tuck Shop, Chien Fumant, Jane, Le Bremner, Le filet, Le Comptoir...but it seems we haven't had anything GREAT open in a while - any recos?

Have you been to PARK Restaurant in Westmount? It opened in February and is THE BEST Japanese experience you will have in town. It's mostly Japanese but there are also Korean, Thai & French elements, which speaks of chef Park's amazing talent.

Give it a try, go omakase (chef's surprise menu). You won't regret it, I guarantee it.

I have been 4 or 5 times. The food is good but I can't get past the horrible service and ugly room. The food certainly doesn't match the insipid room and the waitresses who know nothing about the food. I have never been with anyone who has loved the resto. I've been so many times because it' close and the food is healthy. I enjoy it more for lunch, I feel, and every single person I've been with, that the dinner portions are way too small. I wish they had created a beautiful elegant space to match the food and price.

I went to Chien Fumant last week with my husband and another couple. My friend and I chose to split the sea bass for two. The waiter told us that it was delicious. Without looking too studiously at the blackboard, my eyesight at night isn't the greatest, we ordered it. The fish was huge, enough for 4 people. When the bill came we realized that it cost 55$ per person and not for 2. I realize that we should have paid more attention but the waiter could have pointed it out. All to say it left a bad impression on us. Too bad the food was good.
