Did I Ruin My Le Creuset Grill?

I bought an LC skillet grill and I've been washing it with soap and water - in addition to scrubbing it with Bartender's Bestfriend - after nearly every use. It is now so crusty, that I don't know what to do with it. I've owned it for a few months now. Is it destined for the trash now? If not, how can I salvage it?

It is fine. It is just burned on foods. I would physically remove the crust with a plastic tools (like a plastic scraper or even an old credit card). Then, you can try to soak the pan in soda solution or white vinegar solution.

Thanks. I was concerned that I was ruining it with this method of cleaning.

Your welcome. No, I doubt you ruined your pan. Good luck.

      Hi, shoshbarb:

No, it's fine under all that crust. If you're not adverse to chemicals, spray it down with oven cleaner. If you are, boil a little vinegar and soapy water in it.

After you get it clean, I'll leave it for you to decide if the pan is more trouble than it's worth.

      Aloha,
