Dresden in April

Hi there

We are going to Dresden in April for a wedding and are looking for some great places to eat - formal/non-formal/coffee shops/markets - whatever. What are your recommendations?

We are going to be there from the Tuesday (arriving very late in the evening) till the Sunday (leaving Dresden airport at noon). Wedding is on the Friday, so will be sorted for that night. Any must trys?

Cheers
Alison

Dresden is a beautiful city, lucky you.
If that were me I would look for a place that serves Potato dumplings.... ( Kartoffelklösse)

I am really looking forward to it!! Love wine so that is good to know, thanks yummers, and RUK - potato dumplings sound just up my street.

Any other local delicacies? Any particularly good places for coffee/cake/pastries?

None of the meals I had a couple of years ago in Dresden were memorable, but the wines sure were. Plan on drinking lots of fantastic, perfumed whites grown on the south-facing slopes overlooking the Elbe. This wine is difficult to find outside the region, so make the most of your visit!
