Refrigerated Items- Pickled Kampyo and Gobo in Post-Kotobukiya World?

opinionatedchef Mar 3, 2012 03:13 PM

I went to Ebisuya for the first time. I wish them luck but i was surprised not to be able to find the above items. Also not at Reliable. Anyone seen them elsewhere in our area? Love them in my inari. Thnx much.

They sell a limited amount of tsukemono at HMart. It's by the kimchi section. I remember seeing pickled kyuri and gobo, but can't remember if they have kampyo.

I've never been to Miso Market yet, but I wonder if they may have some there.

Miso Market has pretty much everything they had at Kotobukiya, minus the fish, and in smaller quantities.

Just saw both of these things at Miso Market yesterday.

When i went today, they were sold out but i'll go back for it. I MUCH preferred this market to Ebisuya: helpful owner and staff, good layout, good assortment of products.( Of course i still wish ebisuya the best.) thx again youall.

Sky-high prices though, higher than Ebisuya. At least that was my recollection from a couple stops in there--I'll admit my sample size was small. There's also no temptation to buy a little package of uni on your way out, which I suppose could be a plus or a minus.
