March 2012 Farm Stands, CSAs, Farmers Markets news, and other local food sources

Have you made your summer CSA decision? Which winter farmers' markets are you shopping? Have you taken a trip to a farm stand?

I've stopped by the reopened Marshall's Fenway Farm stand and last I heard they were still looking for a location with the Fenway neighborhood being their first choice. Seems as it it would be a great amenity for one of those rental developers.

Just got an email from Bob Marshall saying they closed the stand for good over the weekend, There are plans for a Farmers Market at Sal's Pizza (?) or Landmark possibly starting this coming weekend.
Their CSA has gone up $200 over last year with a pick-up at Clover Hub in Inman Square so we'll be going with the Farmers Market.

It would be great if the Landmark Center could find a place for a market or for Marshalls. With the Fenway T station right there it would reach a lot of people. It would also bring in new business for all the stores. I would certainly do a few errands then shop for local food.

      Thanks for the update.

They have a opened a tiny Farm Stand from Noon until 6ish Mon and Fri on Brookline Ave across from Harvard Vanguard.on my way now, Update: Just spent 9 bucks for a weeks worth of veggies..

Is there a new thread for Farmers Markets in the Boston CH? I thought 'someone' would have started one. This is just a stand alone not a market.

I wasn't very happy with the Stillman's CSA, and I was looking for another one that would be easy to pick up from, given that I'm in Quincy. I found the Brookwood Community Farm CSA. The farm is located in the Blue Hills Reservation in Canton. They seem to have a nice variety of produce they grow, so I thought I'd give it a try. Has anyone here ever used them?
