What's coming in like a lion and out like a lamb? Post what you know...

As I stated at the end of the February thread, I don't know if this means anything, but the former Edge cafe site in Wayland Square had the "For Rent" sign come down and the blinds go up and it looks like they might be doing some work, so perhaps something is coming soon there... I can't imagine that central site staying vacant for long (unless the rents are outrageous)...

Mizu, has opened up on Warwick Ave in Warwick (a month or two back). They offer sushi, hibachi, and other Japanese inspired cuisine. They spent a TON of $$ redoing the interior as the place was a dump and is now quite nice. We haven't tried the hibachi side yet but the restaurant side has some nice dishes. SO loved the sushi, I liked the teriyaki, friends enjoyed their meals as well. We had great service once and only so/so service the second time but nothing to stop us from returning - just felt a bit more rushed by the second server. Bartender was a bit amateurish, but the cocktails were on the inexpensive side. Comparable to Kon in EG, just a bit cheaper. A welcomed addition to the Warwick dining scene!

Woah, Mike's Calzones opened on Thayer! Didn't expect it to get up and running so fast.

The West Warwick restaurant formerly known (for years!) as Mr. Taco, and more recently as Que Pasa or Margaritas is closed now.

The Nathaniel Porter Inn is reopened, by a husband and wife who did mostly catering (he cooks she bakes). This is their first venture into a restaurant, and unfortunately I forgot the new name (it will always be Nathaniel Porter Inn to me, LOL!). Apparently, they did a bit of renovations, and the restaurant had a very nice write up in the Journal a few weeks ago, though I'm waiting for a review before I do go.

We just heard there is an American Flatbread opening this summer on Thayer.

Supposedly right near the CVS but on Thayer. Are there any empty restaurants around that area?
