Looking for a Liquor Wholeseller

Hi guys,

I used to live in CA and over there they have a liquor wholeseller named BevMo - basically, a 30,000 sq ft. warehouse filled top to bottom of every booze and beer and gadgets you can think of, at wholesale price - no membership required.

I'm hoping that someone can point me to such a place inside or very close to DC metro.

Thanks!

Dennis sums it up. Without an ABC license you can not buy from a wholesaler.

Indeed. You could go get an ABC manager's license if you really wanted to, but like every other licensing procedure in DC it's an enormous time suck and won't necessarily save you money in the long run.

Try ACE Beverage. They have a wholesale operation, but they also sell to the public, and their selection is very good. They can also do special orders.

Both MD and VA are controlled states for liquor, as is much of the East Coast (maybe why everyone is so uptight?). DC isn't but I don't know of any direct line to buy. You could get a license in the District I guess and then buy wholesale. Otherwise, schlep it on over to Total Wine or something.

If you're looking for high-end vodka, and you do get a license, then email me.

I don't think your going to find anything that compares to Bevmo but you can try Total Wine or Corridor Wine but neither are close to Metro and both are located outside DC.

I would try the Magruder's in Chevy Chase they have good prices and carry a wide selection
