Recommend private room for biz event dinner in Manhattan

Hi all,

My company is thinking about hosting a couple dinners for professional contacts in Manhattan.

I would like to find somewhere with a private room, impeccable service, and perhaps a hook to encourage turn out by the more elusive guests.

Fine dinning...Italian, Japanese, Mediterranean...clean, delicious food.

Backstage access to nice kitchen would be nice. Access to a brilliant chef great.

Any suggestions?

I think you'd need to tell people how many guests you're thinking of inviting (some private rooms will fit 30 and others 130), a guide to budget, whether you're talking about a sit down meal or something else and who these elusive guests might be (what kind of industry or the ages).
