Sesame Seeds Plus Oil?

  • 4

Instead of using sesame seed oil, is there a way of combing sesame seeds and olive oil? I've tried toasting the seeds in the oil, but am wondering if I should be doing something else to give it more sesame flavor.

  1. Are you talking about Asian style toasted sesame seed oil that is used as a flavoring?
That is oil that is expressed from the toasted sesame seeds themselves. I do not think that you can achieve the product with sesame seeds and another oil.

Yes, I was hoping to be able to use a healthier oil. But toasting the sesame seeds isn't getting close to that flavor.

You are talking about toasted sesame oil right? It is usually used in such a small quantity as a seasoning I am surprised that you are concerned with it.
It is also considered a " healthy" oil (very subjective of course)

Thanks for telling me. I was under the impression that it wasn't.
