Uncle Nick's on Ninth Ave for Greek. Casual, not much atmosphere, but the food is fresh and tasty. The vegetarians will be happy with the various dips and salads, and all the grilled meats and fish are good. The flaming cheese appetizer is always a hit. Reasonable prices. I'd call ahead re: party of eight.

If you crave good French food, go to La Silhouette.

There are literally HUNDREDS of restaurants along that way. In order to receive help of any relevance, please provide more details.
When will this be? (1 month from now or THIS Friday)
What do you want to spend? Remember to include tax and tip. Is this amount with or without drinks?
What cuisines do you like/dislike? (9th Avenue has virtually any ethnicity of food you can imagine - most quite casual)
What age group?See what I mean?
You can also start by searching (see box top right corner) for "LINCOLN CENTER" or THEATER or TIMES SQUARE. See what comes up of interest, then post a list of those soliciting comments.
Enjoy NYC!

Thanks, so helpful. We are fifty-something, not much of a drinking group, some vegetarians. Going March 30th. Marseille was a big hit last time; they liked the food and the price point. I was thinking of Middle Eastern/Greek for the vegetarians. Can eight people do a walk-in?
