Internet search engines are, or should be, your friends.

I'm not Jewish so I'm not sure if they are truly Kosher, but Elijah's in the La Jolla towne center area says that they are kosher and their menu reflects that.

Elijah's sells ham and bacon, they are definitely not kosher. To my knowledge the only kosher restaurant in SD is The Place http://www.sandiegokosher.com/

The link I provided also listed La Caf'e, located in the University City area. http://www.lacafesd.com/index.html

Having lived in the Middle East for 12 years, I came to learn that Kosher and Halal are virtually interchangeable in most ways, with the exception of strict Kosher laws regarding the separation of meat and dairy. In San Diego, the number of Halal restaurants is far greater than the number of Kosher restaurants. BTW, just being a Jewish style Deli does not necessarily imply Kosher or Halal compliant food. DZ Akins serves pork in many forms which would put off any customer seeking a strict Kosher or Halal environment. Google "Halal restaurants in San Diego" and you'll get a good selection of places to eat food than complies with Kosher law.
