Retirement dinner ideas needed

Hi,

Looking for some suggestions for a small retirement dinner. It will be for about 10 people. The guest of honor wants pasta. And there are some picky eaters (that do not like seafood). Any suggestions. Was originally thinking Lupo but they will only do a group menu - and it likely doesn't have enough variety to suit everyone... Oh and ideally downtown/yaletown - but open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance :)

My first idea was La Buca on the west side (MacDonald @ 22/23 Ave)

Or Campagnolo on Main just north of National Ave:

I've always been quite fond of Adesso Bistro, now in the old Parkside location. Nice room, very comfortable for a group.

I'm happy to hear Adesso is working out. I haven't been, but am always so fond of that location (so then why haven't we been yet, hmmmm?).

Is Cioppino's too obvious? I see no one has brought that up.

How about Cibo or Il Nido or Il Giardino?
