Large party with kids in Boca or near by?

SSIA. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Pretty open to types of food. Thanks!

  1. Well, actually, not sure "SSIA".

How large is this "large party"? 8 to 10? 20?

Is the "party with kids" mostly a "kids event" - aka 10th Birthday Party? Or is it a group of adults that happen to also be bringing children with them?

Are you coming from up north or out of town - so looking for outdoors/beach/fun?

Or is food most important? Price range per person? Do you want to avoid chains or are they ok?

Sorry, i didnt mean "party". It would be 8 adults and 2 kids. Pretty open to price ranges and cuisine. Just nothing to fancy were a 2 1/2 year old would be out of place. we are coming from out of town but are pretty familiar with the area.

yep a lot more info needed, price range, style of food, east or west Boca, is it dinner or lunch?

Price and style of food are wide open. Anywhere in Boca or surrounding areas. It would be for dinner.

Outdoors at DaDa in downtown Delray might be good.

They have a wide variety of food choices, and not too expensive. The outdoor aspect means parents can easily get up and take the kids for a walk or something if they act up - but all the action might keep the kids from getting too bored in the first place.

DaDa can get hipster and very crowded later on, but with kids assuming you would be going out before 8 anyway. At that point it's often largely much more family-oriented.

Your gang can also go for a walk on The Ave afterwards, possibly for dessert at Kilwin's, check out the outdoor music at Johnnie Brown's, etc. Obviously you'd want to make a res for a large party.

      2. Renzo's Cafe on Federal Highway is casual, good and kid friendly.

        1. or Mizner Park - Villagios or Max's or Uncle Julios - kids can walk around if they get fidgety

Good call Smartie - Mizner would be another good area. I do like the idea of having a Plan B to do something else with the kids if things turn chaotic - as opposed to just going to a solitary restaurant in say a small strip mall.

I loved Kapow on a recent visit. They've changed chefs but the mgmt group is solid so in theory they should know what they're doing.

thanks, we actually had been to maxs several time, but ended up there again. its consistently good and mizner park is a good place for the kids. we also went to JBs on the beach. Food was decent and again, good place for the kids.
