Which one for a Saturday night birthday dinner??

I have only sampled Le Meritage during an event, in the courtyard. However, and with that said, I spent a few hours talking, and tasting, and Le Meritage said, and did the right things. I was impressed, at least for not actually dining there.

OTOH, I like Mr. B's, though do have a few other restaurants, where I like the BBQ Shrimp better. They ARE a good restaurant, and I have dined there several times.

Tough call. For me, it would be Le Meritage, but that is mostly because we have not dined there. After such an experience, I might change that tune.

Good luck, and the "locals" will have enough input to really help you.

The best that we have had, were at Emeril's NOLA, and then at Ralph Brennan's Ralph's on the Park.

However, that is just our tastes, and others might feel differently.

I had shrimp and grits at NOLA -- with BBQ sauce on them -- and I have dreams about them. Like...DREAMS. My mouth is watering.

Haven't been to Le Meritage, but would not be happy if my hubby choose either of the other two for my bd. Consider August, Herbsint, Coquette, Patois, Lilette or Commander's garden room on Fri. for a birthday lunch. Just my 2cents.

Hi Jazzy B - are there fun bars/ jazz clubs in walking distance from HerbSaint, Coquette or Lilette?
They all look great, just trying to save on so many cab rides!

Galatoires or Commanders are my B'Day celebration spots. Le Meritage is very good and you can walk (safer on Royal Stree) to the Marigny afterwards from either LM or Gals...just be sure to take a cab home...safety first.

Take a cab to Marigny for bars/music. You can ride the streetcar/walk to Coquette. Get off at Washington Ave., walk 5 blocks up Washington to Magazine. Coquette is on the R corner across Magazine.

You could do Stella! It's at the lower end of the Quarter. Frenchman's only a short walk to hit the bars & clubs afterwards.
