Cooking with Ryan Scott

Despite the fact that the Bay Area is a foodie hotbed, there's been a sad lack of food-related radio programming, that became even worse with the "retirement" of Gene Burns, who had a show on KGO Saturday mornings. KGO has revamped it's weekend line-up yet again, and included a show with Top Chef alum Ryan Scott, who has been doing a segment on their morning news for a while now. Saturdays, 4-6 -- it's an awkward time, I hope it's successful!

Gene Burns moved to KKSF with his Dining Around program (10 am to 1 pm on Sat). He's been ill and has had guest hosts for a while.

Thanks. Gene has been ill for a long time, so it didn't occur to me he would carry on somewhere else.

I doubt I'll ever listen to it in that time slot -- too bad because I used to listen to Gene's show all the time while I was out running errands on Saturday morning. What I really need is a DVR for my car radio so that I can record shows and play them back on a long drive. I guess that's the function of a podcast, but I don't even have an MP3 player, let alone have one I can play through my car radio.
