Hodads style onion rings in LA area (Santa Monica, Hollywood, Pasadena areas)

Can't make it down to SD this trip but we are craving Hodad's onion rings! Any suggestions for good onions rings (with that crunchy batter like at Hodad's) in the LA area?

We'll mostly be in the SM, Hollywood, and Pasadena areas but am open to any suggestions.

Closest I can think of to Hodad's onion rings -- big, thick, crunchy monstrosity of deep-fried goodness -- is at Big Daddy's in Pasadena.

Lamb burger, steak sandwich, and the milkshakes are pretty good. Not a destination place, but a nice alternative to fast-food.

We sort of stumbled on the place when In N Out was too crowded.

Might be good to get some onion rings to go with my double double animal style (considering the In-N-Out fries are just fair).

Nope, no onion rings up here like Hodad's in San Diego that I know of. I wish.
But I do like the Tempura Onion Rings at Umami Burger (in Santa Monica and Hollywood) and the mountain of onion rings served at The Hat in Pasadena (one order can serve 4). Hope those help your cravings.
