Cookbook advice?

So, what would you guys consider to be /the/ best cookbook for baking/pastry arts? On the same note, which one is better, BAKED Explorations or New Frontiers in Baking? I've been looking in to buying a new cookbook lately and would like something, just, really really good. I'm also considering getting a book to expand my bread making abilities, so if anyone knows one, much appreciated.
Basically, what is your favorite cookbook on baking?

  1. I really enjoy the last 2 books I got: Baked Explorations by Matt Lewis & Renato Poliafito (a gift), and Flour by Joanne Chang. However, not necessary for the actual recipes in them. Both are visually beautiful that contain pictures of mouth watering bake goods all over the book. But more importantly, I get technique tutorial and new ideas from them. With the easy access of internet every where these days, my books are really becoming more like decoration. And with my ever growing collection on a limited space. I found that I definitely love my books, but in reality don't use them as much compare to the personal cooking/baking page I created for my own personal use.
