Isabel Cantina on Felspar just a little bit west of Cass.

I've had about 1/2 the breakfast menu and haven't found a dud on it yet. Plus they serve good coffee - http://www.isabelscantina.com/i/menus...

2nd CANTINA. Great breakfast place, but I don't love their pancakes, although many do. (too spongy for me) Two other suggestions: the restaurant at The Catamaran Hotel. Eat outside, view of bay, and the new chef has brought his experience from The Lodge at Torrey Pines (which was famous for their lemon ricotta pancakes). On Sundays they do 80's style Big Brunch with pancakes made on the spot. For cinnamon rolls that are incredible, Baked, in Mission Beach, just off the boardwalk.

Glad to hear the Cat resort has a new chef (maybe your honey bun)
We used to go back in the days and it was an excellent brunch...lemon ricotta pancakes..yum!

        Green Flash
World Famous at the Surfer hotel
Kona's for divey cheap..never had pancakes there..only the lil breakfast
        Broken Yolk
        Isabels Cantina
        The Mission

Not my honey bun nor pancake, but a friend of his. Turning the Cat around (or nosing it into the 90's) is an uphill battle, but the chef has good experience and intentions. We'll see if management is serious about change. I've had great food there, but oh my, the service is shameful and the dining room beyond ugly. Thank god for the view. . .

Man, good luck to him. The owners have relied on "the view" for far too many years (or decades).

South on Mission Blvd is a restaurant called The Mission, which has outstanding pancakes and french toast. (No waffles)

Assuming you're at the Best Western Blue Sea Lodge, you're right next door to World Famous (right on the boardwalk) which has a good breakfast. Also, Kono's is a great place for breakfast, right across from the entrance to Crystal Pier. The Eggery at 4150 Mission Blvd should also do the trick. Here are some websites for these places:
