Anyone know who sells them in the Twin Cities? We like to kill our own!

  1. Restaurant or retail? Coastal Seafoods in St. Paul sells live lobsters from a tank. Jax in NE Minneapolis used offer "pick your lobster from our tank" on their menu; don't know if they still do..

Looking for retail. The Coastal Seafood off Hiawatha does not have live lobsters. Is there another location in St. Paul?

shuang hur on nicollet has a tank.

          Grand and Snelling.

I don't think they have live lobsters at Grand and Snelling location of Coastal, so maybe call first?

Was just confirming there was a St. Paul location. Not a place I shop, but I live nearby.

Walk into the Grand & Snelling location of Coastal and go straight to the back of the store so that you are facing the coolers. The lobster tank should be to your right, at the end of line of glass cases. Granted, I haven't been in to the store very recently so if they took it out, I may have missed it.

No, you're right. I can visualize it. Don't know why it escaped my memory! I'd still call first, though...

I suppose it is possible that Coastal on Snelling does not have live lobsters, it is highly unlikely. I've been in there about 50 times in the last 5 years and every single time the tank has been chock-full of live lobsters.

I was there the day before Valentine's Day and they had them.

Coastal on Hiawatha does not have a lobster tank, but one can still purchase live Maine lobster there. I just call a day ahead and let them know what I want (number of lobsters and how big).

            2. I remember seeing them at the Lunds in Uptown not too long ago, you might give them a call and check.

They have them at sun foods on University and snelling

Dragon Star on Dale & Minnehaha in St. Paul has many tanks, including lobster.

              2. Byerleys can get them for you on request. They used to have a tank in the Chanhassen store but it must not have been economical. When they were little, my kids LOVED to check out the tank everytime we shopped.

                1. Why not catch you own? I believe Tiff's and Shamrocks have this game...

Tiff's doesn't have the tank anymore... which is too bad, since I was still owed one.

Shuang Her in St Paul also has a tank with Live Lobsters.

How are those lobsters at Shuang Huar? Also, I've never bought their oysters. Anyone?

                        1. re: SarahInMinneapolis

I have never purchased lobsters or oysters from Shuang Her. I have however purchased some fantastic large head on prawns, you may want to skip on the blue crabs however. Although some are still alive they are mixed in with ones that have expired and makes for a very unpleasant odor.

                  2. Lunds in Eagan has a tank.
