Dallas-Looking for a store with good beer selection near uptown Dallas

newsprint Feb 24, 2012 12:37 PM

I'm in town for the weekend and staying uptown. Where can I find a store with a good beer selection near uptown? I'll have a rental car so I can leave the area if needed.

Thanks for the help!

Spences, at walnut hill and 75 has a pretty good selection. There's also goody goody on Greenville between park and walnut hill that has a good selection as well.

It's "Spec's". Not, Spences. And, there is a Goody-Goody much closer to the Uptown area on Oak Lawn between Lemmon and Cedar Springs.

Another vote for Specs. Incredible selection and discount for cash/debit card purchases.

"Near" is a realative term. But I'd suggest Central Market at Lovers and Greenville. They have a very large and well selected beer selection. Closer, but not quite as deep, is the selection at Sunflower Market, 1800 Henderson.

The beer and wine selection at Wholefoods at Lomo Alto and Lemmon isn't too shabby, either. And, it's also much closer to Uptown than "Central Markup".

Spec's definitely has the biggest selection. The World Beer Co Bottle Shop on Greenville is closer and has a great feel. You can fill growlers there pretty cheap and try before you buy at the bar.
