River Road Tavern, Bedford NH

Hey All - my wife and I just had lunch at the River Road Tavern in Bedford, NH. It's on South River Road, across the street and near the Target Shopping Center.

It was pretty good. I had a Kobe beef burger and some fries. My wife had some buffalo wings (an appetizer) and a beer. The atmosphere is nice and casual, but it also felt a little cold/industrial.

Our server was excellent. She was friendly, attentive but not bothersome, and very helpful. The food was prepared fresh and we were served very quickly (we were there around 12:30PM).

I had ordered my burger medium, but it came out more like medium rare. I've never had authentic Kobe beef so I can't tell if the beef was truly Kobe. However, the burger was very good and the sauce that accompanied it on the side was also tasty. The roll that accompanied the beef was very nice and they had a fresh slice of tomato and some freshly sliced onion on the side (plus a pickle). The fries were a little soggy, but freshly made and pretty good (but not great). My wife enjoyed her wings and they have a nice selection of beer (I just had water).

The prices weren't too bad. The burger was $8 and the fries were $3. If I had to do it again, I would have just gotten the burger. It was very filling.

Overall I like this place. The service was excellent, the atmosphere is good, and the prices aren't too high. The food was pretty good. I would give this lunch a B+. I would definitely go back again.
