Brooklyn Birthday Dinner

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice restaurant for a birthday dinner. I'm not sure how many adults will be going (mid-to-late 20s), no children. I live in Fort Greene, so I'd like to go in Park Slope, Gowanus, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene, Carroll Gardens, Downtown Brooklyn, or Boerum Hill. I just moved to NYC in January so I don't know anywhere to go.

I'm looking for a place that accepts reservations, Italian, Greek or possibly American, and accepts cash AND cards, $20 or so per entree. I was looking at Convivium Osteria but it looks like they only accept cash or American Express.

I would love to hear your thoughts!

You have so many options, it's almost paralyzing! A lot of places that "don't take reservations" will take them for larger groups, as thegforceny indicated for Buttermilk Channel.

I'll just rattle off a couple of options off the top of my head:

    Rucola
    Bar Tabac (rez?)
    Lunetta
    Char No. 4
    Seersucker
    Al Mar
    Hopeland
    Bocca Lupo
    Frankies 457
    Prime Meats

... and so many more... Once you have a better idea of headcount, you'll be able to inquire about reservations for 6,8,10, etc. A lot of places that won't normally take a reservation may make an exception for a larger group.
