Wash the brown rice until the water runs clear. Place 1 cup rice and two cups cold water in a heavy-bottomed saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Bring to a rapid boil over high heat uncovered. Reduce the heat to low-ish and cover the pan. Allow to barely simmer for 35 minutes without lifting the lid. Remove from heat without lifting the lid and let stand and steam for 20 minutes. Fluff and serve.

What? You need to cook them, but then you say you can eat them raw. Makes no sense.
