re: Caitlin McGrath
I pointed out the problem to "jane" on January 16 and received no reply.
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/8273...It is curious that the Digest articles are not part of "The Latest" "Top Stories" feed.

We are experimenting with the names of our dropdowns to create clarity, and "restaurant reviews" probably didn't do that for Digest. We are going to change that name to "Hot on Chowhound" soon, and hope that will help.
Thanks, Meredith of CHOW

re: mudaba
Well, hot posts (something different from the Digest) was certainly an eye catching link.
Since Chow is being so receptive lately to suggestions, what about putting Unread Posts (hot posts) at the bottom of the latest Chowhound posts page, calling the link "more posts'
Yelp does that with "more new reviews near you" IIRC, in the past they didn't have that link and it was really annoying only have the three most recent reviews flash by.
From what I've observed, people use that latest posts page a lot and probably, as I did, would get a lot more out of the site. i hope that unread posts is not on some future kill list. Like the Digest, given a little more attention, it would get used a lot.
i realize that link would only show up if someone was logged in ...in that case the link could be a teaser like 'sign up for more hot posts'

I keep a bookmark for the main page: http://www.chow.com/digest/ and also for pages of the specific editions I want to keep up with (reached via the links on the right under browse regions).
